Its a very difficult time for our businesses at the moment, and this is probably not the time for me to voice any opinions on whether Government guidelines are helpful or not.

What I can do is pass on one or two ideas I've heard or thought of. you may already have thought of these but here goes.

1. One restaurant local to me have taken out some of their tables to ensure there is at least a metre between tables, giving customers a little more space and therefore a little more security

2. Our local pub the Duke was heaving on Friday night. They had three large bottles of sanitising gel on the bar, which the staff and customers were using liberally. If you can get it, this is a great idea, and helps with customer confidence.

3. If people are staying in rather than go out, if possible have some sort of take away service.
I know that's easy for me to say, and I have no idea how difficult that would be to set up, but it seems like if you can bring your restaurant in to peoples homes, rather than them come into your restaurant, that would be great.

4. And don't forget candles!!! People can have a candle lit dinner at home. Why not offer to give people one of our disposable liquid wax candles when someone orders a takeaway! (They only cost 89p each for a 24 hour candle!).

5. Whatever great ideas you have for instilling customer confidence, or ingenious ideas to help, make sure you tell your customers. Put it on facebook, instagram and whatever other platform you can think of.

If you have any great ideas that you might like to share, I'd be delighted to hear them

In the meantime, check your stocks and give me a call if you need anything, or of course go to our online store for Lamp Oil or Oil candles
